World War Two Recreated
I have been reenacting the Second World War since 2019. During these reenactments I portray a US combat photographer, using equipment and techniques accurate to the period to make these photographs. This collection of photos were all made using 35mm cameras and processes authentic to the period, giving the images a uniquely antiquated, yet contemporary look. In the time I’ve been photographing reenactments, I’ve learned that these events serve one, very important purpose: keeping history alive. As the Second World War slowly drifts from living memory, it’s becoming all too easy to think of the War as events from the distant past, losing the impact it had on the individual level.
D-Day Conneaut 2022
This is a selection of photos from the world's largest D-Day reenactment, held in Conneaut, Ohio. I hit the beach portraying a civilian war photographer, shooting these photos on 35mm film.
